A topic not much talked about -- at least not openly by men, is phalloplasty. Phalloplasty is a surgical procedure where a penis is enlarged in length and/or girth. Some men suffer from a specific medical condition which requires medical intervention so that they don't suffer ongoing difficulties with urination and difficulties with intercourse.
For other men, this is merely an esthetic procedure to enhance their appearance and sexual performance. The procedure is relatively safe, with minimal risk of complications. Today, the technique of performing phalloplasty is very well refined. For most men, the surgery can be a life-changing experience, giving them confidence and enjoyment they previously lacked. For some, it is a perceived enhancement for a psychological issue, and is therefore misplaced - it is not for everyone. For this reason and before this procedure is performed, a good personal consultation is provided by our office to screen out the men that are having this procedure for the wrong reason. In some cases, a referral to a good psychologists is more appropriate. For some, the surgery is truly a blessing. The decision is quite individual.
